Like it or not, we are all building. Some are literally building houses, others a career and others, their investment portfolios. But one thing everybody is building is their lives. Everybody has the responsibility to build their own lives.
Hear what Jesus has to say to us today
Luke 6:47-49 KJV
Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
When we hear the word of God, He expects us to put it to work. He expects that we apply his principles and his wisdom in the building of our lives and careers. The storm will come, the evil day will come. It is certain. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day (Eph 6:13). The building that will stand in the evil day will be the one built on the wisdom of Jesus.
There is that guy also who heard Jesus at church. He heard the preaching on faith and prosperity by God’s way and never put it to work. He followed the world and it’s systems. Well, his fall in the face of storm is also certain.
Jesus is the rock upon which we should build. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.(1Corinthians 3:11)
